One of the best rated defensive players in ISL, Skavko Damjanovic, told us about his impressions of the first season in India
Everyone at the club wanted us to succeed, from the players, coaching staff and the club management. In the beginning, everything went as we imagined, but as the season progressed, we showed that we did not have the strength to match the other teams in the league. There were a combination of various circumstances, such as injuries to key players in important matches that were difficult to compensate; says Slavko
Life in quarantine was not easy for the players because we were separated from our families and we did not have the opportunity to move. My greatest regret is that we could not play in front of our fans, because I am sure that with the support from the stands, this team could have done much more. I fell in love with this team and I would like to continue my career here.
I know there are clubs interested in my services next season but my position is to talk to Chennai first to our mutual satisfaction. I would like to thank everyone at the club for accepting me and helping me adapt to the new environment, and I hope that I will return, and that we will do our best to bring the team to its rightful place.
After 7 month Slavko arived his home country Montenegro and spending time with his familly.
